Nena lives in a land where your nose grows when you lie. Everyone wants to have the longest nose in that land, because a long nose is something to be proud of. One morning something terrible happens. Nena wakes up and her nose stays short. No matter what she tries, her nose won’t grow anymore. She needs to solve this problem quickly! But how?
The Nose is a children’s concert full of lies. A performance about a big problem caused by a small nose, about honesty, about what it’s like to be different… and about friendship. This brand new performance was written by composer Renske Vrolijk and writer Sanne Schuhmacher on commission from the Concertgebouworkest, with direction by Caecilia Thunnissen.
Prologue – Did you know that in a land, not even very far from here, there are people who look very much like us. There’s almost no difference. They have exactly the same eyes, exactly the same legs, the same ears, tongue and toes. They’re almost the same, truly. The only thing that’s different about these people is their nose.

Over dit concert
Nena woont in een land waar je neus groeit als je liegt. Iedereen wil in dat land de langste neus hebben, want een lange neus is iets om trots op te zijn. Op een ochtend gebeurt er iets vreselijks. Nena wordt wakker en haar neus blijft kort. Wat ze ook probeert, haar neus groeit niet meer. Ze moet dit probleem oplossen en snel! Maar hoe?
De neus is een kinderconcert vol leugens. Een voorstelling over een groot probleem door een kleine neus, over eerlijkheid, over hoe het is om anders te zijn… én over vriendschap. Deze gloednieuwe voorstelling is geschreven door componist Renske Vrolijk en tekstschrijver Sanne Schuhmacher in opdracht van het Concertgebouworkest, de regie is van Caecilia Thunnissen.
Proloog – Wisten jullie dat er in een land, niet eens zo heel ver hier vandaan, mensen bestaan die heel veel op ons lijken. Er is bijna geen verschil.
Ze hebben precies dezelfde ogen, precies dezelfde benen, dezelfde oren, tong en tenen. Ze zijn bijna hetzelfde, heus. Het enige dat anders is aan deze mensen is hun neus.
